Summary
The life of Tohru Honda, a resolute high schooler, is transformed by a family tragedy, and she resolves to take charge by leaving her house and setting up a tent. Regrettably, she unwittingly chooses private land owned by the mysterious Sohma clan as her new home. With time, the landowners discover her presence, but instead of expelling her, they offer her a place to live. It is then that Tohru uncovers the family's hidden secret: each member turns into an animal from the Chinese Zodiac upon physical contact with someone of the opposite gender. In Volume 9 of the story, readers will also get a bonus chapter called "Rain Shelter of Terror."
