Summary

The focus of this epic tale is on Ryner Lute, a sluggish student of the Roland Empire, who becomes embroiled in a fantastical world of swords and sorcery. Suffering the loss of several dear friends during a brutal war, Ryner is summoned by the soon-to-be crowned king, Sion Astal, with a request to locate fabled artifacts to aid in the reconstruction of Roland. Ryner is accompanied on this perilous quest by Ferris Eris, a strikingly talented swordswoman whose arrogance frequently leads to her berating and belittling Ryner. Things take a turn for the worse as a fresh wave of chaos threatens the peace of Roland.
