Summary

Marguerite, the young princess of the kingdom of Lunaria, impulsively dashes into the forest one day and is abducted by a wolf. Fortunately, Christoph, a warrior from the village of Elbe who is unable to conceive children, comes to her rescue and saves her life. From then on, Marguerite is brought up by Christoph, and she assumes the identity of a boy named Nicola. The tale picks up a decade later, with Nicola and two companions as the main characters.
