Summary

Mia grew up poor in her small town. Though she worked hard for her keep, a life of stitching clothes could never afford her the finer things. One day, while browsing a jewelry store, she chances upon a beautiful red brooch. It's a luxury she could never afford with ten lifetimes' worth of income. Even so, a strange darkness begins to take over the child as she covets a life beyond her means. This series contains strong themes and depictions of abuse that may not be suitable for all readers.
